We should not be burning methane gas in our homes (or anywhere). New research report: Scientists gave asthma patients free electric stoves to replace their gas stoves, then checked to see if symptoms improved. Not only did symptoms improve but ditching gas was *better than medicine.* https://www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/electric-stoves-asthma #LNG #oilAndGas #GHG #emissions #methane #asthma #health #methaneGas #naturalGas #electricity #stoves

70% drop in hospital admissions and days off from work or school when people with poorly controlled #asthma had their gas stoves replaced with electric. Turns out that not polluting your home with fossil gas works 2x better than medications for treating asthma. Doctors should be able to prescribe induction cooktops to asthma patients and insurance should cover it. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/jul/24/replacing-gas-stove-can-help-asthmatics-as-much-as-some-drugs-us-experts-find

Replacing gas stoves with electric stoves greatly reduces asthma symptoms. "On average, participants went from having moderate asthma symptoms to having mild symptoms. Emergency room visits and hospitalizations for asthma fell by 70%. Missed days of work or school because of asthma dropped by about 80%. At the same time, indoor levels of nitrogen dioxide decreased by 70%." https://theconversation.com/replacing-gas-stoves-with-electric-stoves-greatly-reduces-asthma-symptoms-287753 #asthma #ElectricStove #GasStove

2🧵🧐 The study uses data modeling to make predictions. One research bit I found interesting is in the graph below, which shows #China having the highest & #India having the 2nd highest road-transport attributable premature deaths (but the countries also have the highest populations w/ much concentrated in cities) — And the #USA has the highest number of new pediatric #asthma cases 😳 #health #PublicHealth #VehicleEmissions #EVs #environment #MyThoughts -- Full study: https://theicct.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/ID-611-%E2%80%93-GHS-update_report_final-2.pdf
