Since there are a number of ant enthusiasts here i figured I'd ask: this ant Hill has been here for at least 20 years, and in all of that time I don't recall seeing something like this. A bunch of winged ants are milling about the entrance to the ant hill. I never see the winged ants from this hill, only the unwinged ones doing normal ant business. It seems like some kind of ant politics are afoot. Does anyone know what this is?

🇩🇰 She/her I still don’t know what I’m doing here. So mostly just watching. I love nature, photography, animals (especially cats), music on vinyl, cold plunges, weird humor, neardy stuff. And other things, I can’t remember this moment. Don’t like, but am forced to live with ME/CFS in a country that still treats it as hysteria. And on top of that CPTSD. Trying to stay positive even though it’s hard some days.
