I like this whole article from Anil Dash, and especially thinking over this section... #AI #AgenticWeb "The Good AI? This isn't a comprehensive list, but it's possible to imagine some traits of an AI system that could credibly offer an alternative to the offerings that are currently dominating the conversation. (This is deliberately light on technical specifics and is intended for a more general audience, but is grounded in familiarity with the current state of progress on… 🧵 1/6

Some key observations here on search and #AgenticWeb “Because it was always happening. It was never going to not happen. Does Google owe them the traffic? I don't know. But they did change the terms of the deal. They did weather the storm of introducing AI overviews and then AI mode...And their position is, yeah, we'll send some traffic to you. And it's the last step when people want to buy the shoes. That's the traffic you're going to get. And you have to be happy with that. 🧵 1/4

Hhypothesis: Developers who came out of the #indieweb communities are conceptually more comfortable with the #agenticweb ideas, as basically they have been doing it for years. #POSSE, which is the beating heart of all things indieweb, isn't LIKE agentic social and web publishing - it IS Agentic web and social publishing. 🔗 https://indieweb.org/POSSE

“Hey…let’s be careful out there.” Prompted by the immortal words of Sgt. Phil Esterhaus on Hill Street Blues, I look at two lessons from RunSignup’s careful AI rollout:

  1. Embed AI where users already work.
  2. Move fast — but safely.

I also reflect on some of the negative feedback about agentic AI this week — including continued layoffs in our industry and a lack of user trust in AI.

I know that in some quarters of both the Bluesky and Fediverse side of the #OpenSocialWeb there is a justifiably allergic reaction to AI. I get it and share it. But I'm becoming more convinced than ever at this: if we in the open social web space don't build our own healthy, safe and fair versions of #AgenticWeb interactions here, it will be defined and done for and to us. The big platforms are already building agentic features: social enabled agents that read your feed, draft your… 🧵 1/3

AX was the new DX. Now it’s becoming the new UX. In my latest post, I explore how "agent experience" has morphed beyond "developer experience" and become a branch of "user experience". https://ricmac.org/2026/05/05/agent-experience-new-ux/ #AgenticWeb #AI

Testing the #AgenticWeb feed from tags.pub -> this post should show up on @agenticweb, which you can follow if you’re interested in the topic. (Cool new service from @evan@mastodon.social that spreads tagged content further than normal; apparently just following a hashtag in Mastodon etc isn’t as effective as you’d think)
