I try to stick to software development and engineering topics, often related to application development, but I also shitpost random stuff, occassionally about photography, (usually not more then) react to politics or economics.

@nixCraft I never understand why we can't make it so that people go to jail when corporations do such stuff. And this AI thing is more of the same. There's so much polarity around it, and the usage and everything. I don't want to judge either people that are for AI or against it, I just want people to be held responsible when there's a security risk. Whether you used vim, emacs, LLM, language server, autocomplete, if you're a bank and lose my money (or data), you should be responsible. And your management who allowed you to pass stupid code into production.

@nicuveo@tech.lgbt Right, most of the social networks have at least partially a similar effect. What people in the nineties used IRC for, and ICQ and I don't know what, then other IM services, now we use social networks for. Even a very highly focused accounts that consistently post information on the same topic, and answer questions etc - you never go _search_ for information there, you go to _ask_ for an answer. When you consider it, we used to have IRC as ephemeral, and websites as a more permanent way of storing info. Perhaps forums were something in between. I have a feeling that most feed-based social thingies are much closer to IRC than to one's personal website. At least that's how I feel about it all, for a while now. Glad to see I'm not the only one not caring about my feeds :)
