DIL was not only torn herself, but had to hide reality from her anti-choice mother whom she loves. And yes, it’s what anti-choice zealots inflict on women like Kate Cox & their families/doctors. They make choice black & white when it’s really very gray. Pregnant women face so many scary, condition-driven decisions.

The normal path through the birth canal would have been excruciatingly painful for the fetus, plus its short life outside the womb would have been the same. DIL had “timely” miscarriage, thus avoiding a shoutdown between DIL & her mother, who’s a total abortion ban fanatic.

@auschwitzmuseum@mastodon.world — I’m married to someone with Jewish heritage where the Jewish ancestors fled persecution in another land. We both hope people remember and avoid perpetrating the atrocities which Auschwitz Museum is a stark reminder of. In that same hope, we both decry any atrocities on both sides of the Israel-Hamas war.
