They do make lovely seascapes in these parts... just short of 200 finishers at #poolbegparkrun this morning, including quite a few people who came for the run but hadn't registered with the Parkrun website! Not a problem, of course, everyone is welcome whether registered or not.

So if I'm reading correctly, the position of the Garda Commissioner is that the hastily-enacted scrambler ban can't be enforced because it turns out that people using them illegally haven't stopped just because there's a new law, and the Gardaí are not (equipped, trained, able, etc.) to pursue them.
And in the same breath he wants a full ban on e-scooters.

@jjcelery@mastodon.ie spent a good deal of time fighting this specific demon with Postfix, and eventually resorted to writing a validation script and reading through settings until I _think_ I have it nailed. The only gap currently is questionable relays (i.e. someone sends email relay.doofus.com "from" and "to" me, and my server accepts it) and the only way I know of to kill this is to be brutal about SPF/DKIM. I have this on a test server and it seems to work.

@ccferrie three castles burning had a poscast some time back with the archivist responsible for the earlier publications, and she spoke about tendering the process out and some Canadian group basically over delivering - the ask was to just index the names and the Canadians had done all the columns, or some such. She was also responsible for pushing the idea that it should be free access.
