TEXT EXCERPT

Sangría Valentino – Original Skin
Soloudstilling i Eks-rummet

TEXT EXCERPT

As artists and art workers, we depend on digital infrastructures. We use them to communicate our work and stay informed about our scene. But what defines digital infrastructures, and how are we actually involved in them? How do we shift to platforms other than the large, commercial ones, and why? In what ways are these more supportive and sustainable, and what challenges might we encounter? How can artworks be infrastructural in themselves? And what alternative infrastructures can we dream and create as visual artists?

Building on these questions, in this workshop we will rethink what digital infrastructures, organisations and kinships are as concepts both within and beyond art, on Friday 29 May 2026, 12.00 to 17.00 at Nordjyllands Kunstnerværksted in Nordkraft, Aalborg.

The workshop is led by artist, curator and system administrator Anders Aarvik, who will give a presentation on his work with alternative digital infrastructures, including ursuppe.dk and various server collectives, as an alternative to big tech corporations. Following the presentation, we will collectively move into reflections, discussions and experiments. In the workshop, we are not necessarily looking for definitive answers to our questions and experiments, but for them to be generative and open up new questions that can lead us to action.

Programme:
12 AM – 1:15 PM: Welcome and free group lunch
1:15 – 2:30 PM: Presentation by Anders Aarvik
2:30 – 4:30 PM: Hacking (experimentation)
4:30 – 5:00 PM: Reflection and wrap-up

TEXT EXCERPT

TEXT EXCERPT

‘A Granule of Stress’ is the first solo exhibition in Denmark by the Austrian visual artist Sophie-Luise Passow. It showcases artworks inspired by the biological phenomenon of stress granules. These are structures that form when cells are under strain to protect key components needed for protein production. If the metabolic stress is short-lived, stress granules assemble and dissolve as part of a transient adaptive process. If the stress becomes chronic, however, they can harden and eventually lead to disease. Instead of simply illustrating, these large-format paintings examine and channel the core of the concept through the medium of abstract visual art. Informed by an art-science approach, the series of works invites the public to engage with the tension between adaptive and pernicious stress.

There will be an accompanying informational booklet exploring the functions of stress granules in the body, written by Dr. Urte Laukaityte (Aarhus University).

Gemmer du dig i mørke hjørner?

TEXT EXCERPT

“She Listen’s but She Can’t Speak”
Værktekst (Only in Danish):
skrevet af Lotte Løvholm, Olivia Rode Hvass og Alex-Alice Topsøe Jensen

Placeret på søen foran Kurhuset har Olivia Rode Hvass skabt She listens but she can't speak.

lowkey: critical coding club is first and foremost a coding club - a series of hangouts for anyone who wants to write computer programs with other people. Whether you're new or experienced, need inspiration, or just want to throw on headphones and hack, you are welcome to join. Expect it to be laid-back and self-organised outside usual hierarchies: study groups, spontaneous pair programming, parallel working/body doubling, or just folks with laptops.

In lowkey we are focused on creating a space for diverse coding practices and building a community outside the usual institutions and sites with temporary contracts. E.g., academic institutions, businesses and entrepreneurship with ethical compromises, or "expert" meetups. Through the lens of critical technical practice, we are also open to address politics and social issues tied to coding, but rather than discussing them in the abstract, we focus on integrating this into our practice of coding.

We recognise the historically inequitable social reality of software and the patriarchal and capitalist structures and behaviours within it. We aim for an inclusive and soft space as a disruptive action to change this history. This event is inspired by community coding events happening all over the globe, and can be considered a friendly fork of Calm Coding by Varia in Rotterdam.

Come work on a project, follow a tutorial, or just code! Need inspiration? Check out our Resources on our website.

We would like to ask everyone who wants to join to read the Social Rules on our website.

TEXT EXCERPT

TEXT EXCERPT

Owning your digital space is more than a technical skill. It’s a step away from big tech and toward shared resilience. Social media platforms are designed for engagement, not longevity. Their rules change, their algorithms shift, and most have compromised their ethical obligations to their users.

Learning some foundational web programming skills empowers us. We can build almost anything with html, css and javascript. Whether we want to build a web portfolio, a community website, or a place to show our digital art, learning these skills can give us a lasting presence on the web. The sites we build in this workshop will be resilient and highly customizable—and they will be ours, most importantly.

No one should code alone. Bring your laptop, we have snacks.

TEXT EXCERPT

TEXT EXCERPT

The show examines the suspended moment before action—a volatile threshold where thought is frozen, just moments from becoming gesture. Mikkel Rohde Skovlunde explores how privilege shapes our ability and willingness to pursue political change, despite constant exposure to distant suffering and humanmade trauma. As these conditions become increasingly familiar, the line between initiative and paralysis begins to blur. Through subtly disquieting works, the show lingers in hesitation, asking what holds us back from radical action—and what it might cost to remain there.

Declaration of a Local Business as AFZ

We, ursuppe, as a platform cooperative, declare this space as an APARTHEID FREE ZONE (AFZ) and affirm our support for and commitment to the growing international movement for Palestinian rights and for freedom, justice, and equality for all. As a responsible part of our community, we cannot stay silent as violence and injustice are perpetrated against millions of Palestinians.

We commit to respecting the principles of the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement (BDS). We will work to help dismantle Israel’s genocidal, settler-colonial regime starting by ending complicity with it here where we are.

As a local business AFZ:

- We don’t have financial or professional relations with complicit Israeli institutions and corporations.
- We don’t have financial or professional relations with international (financial) institutions or corporations complicit in Israel's genocidal, apartheid, and settler colonial regime, and as defined by the BDS movement.

This declaration is retrieved from BDS movement's AFZ toolkit at https://bdsmovement.net/apartheid-free-zones and can be used for anyone who want to declare their support and vows

TEXT EXCERPT

Have you got a side project you've been meaning to finish? Are you stuck on a bug that's driving you crazy?—Or do you just miss coding with other humans?

Come join us in Kunsthal Aarhus. This workshop is for anyone who's working on some kind of software project. Whether you are a seasoned pro, a total beginner, or somewhere in the middle, you’re welcome to join the session.

If you're someone who needs a bit of quiet to concentrate, then remember to bring you headphones. There's typically a lot of talking going on in these sessions.

No one should code alone. Bring your laptop. We have snacks.

Sunday, 7. June, 2026, 12:00
Sunday, 6. September, 2026, 12:00
Sunday, 4. October, 2026, 12:00
Sunday, 1. November, 2026, 12:00
Sunday, 6. December, 2026, 12:00

The address is Valby Kulturhus, Valgårdsvej 4, 2500 Valby. Room 3.4

This current series is created in collaboration with Skab Kultur in the Municipality of Copenhagen.

lowkey: critical coding club is first and foremost a coding club - a series of hangouts for anyone who wants to write computer programs with other people.

Check out our Resources.
