I don’t know the answer, but for troubleshooting, perhaps try to start a window manager / desktop environment without a display manager.
Additionally, a simple window manager like sway perhaps.

LFS is a classroom. The point is to learn.
For getting work done, use a distro that meets your needs, and has a community you respond to.
Gentoo is great if you’re constantly on the outskirts of the garden.

Yocto / Bitbake were inspired by Gentoo’s portage.
I used them when playing with zaurii (Zaurus PDA) and openmoko.

Congrats! I did the same.
You know all those conveniences that Google gives us for "free" that we all of a sudden can't seem to live without? Microsoft does that for "enterprise level" companies.

I have heard that systemd is “heavier” than alternatives. I haven’t experienced that. I don’t think gaming is impacted at all.
I use openrc on Gentoo for desktop. It requires some script hooks for things that expect systemd, but works quite well. I don’t pay attention to it much, unless I’m writing an init script.

I just followed the handbook honestly. There’s one for ARM devices, but it’s not really necessary.
It took a LONG time to compile everything, so I don’t recommend it to those wanting a simple solution.
As for gaming? Who knows. We use the device for quick looking up of info, recipes (it stays in the kitchen), email, maybe a document or two.
Not sure how much power the Mali GPU has.

Unfortunately all the carriers here (California - at least) have shut down their 3G networks.

Are you getting volte on that? I have a 6t I’d love to try, but only if I can make phone calls.

That’s great to hear! Welcome, and have frustrating fun!
If you don’t mind me asking; in your context, what does “leftist” mean? When I hear the term, it’s usually meant as a pejorative for some nebulous group the utterer doesn’t like.

The transition won’t be painless. You’re going to have to learn new things, especially if you’re familiar with the windows file system and how to work within that.
Linux doesn’t use “drive letters” for mount points, so you’ll have to learn that.
Many games through steam or other game managers are just as easy if not easier than in Windows. Some are more challenging.
If you’re tired enough of Windows that you’re willing to push through some discomfort and new learning, then it’s time.
Once you get to know the distro you choose (Ubuntu is fine), you’ll just work, and it won’t get in your way.

I’ve found the best tool for carving up PDFs is xournal++. It does a better job at maintaining formatting than Draw as well.

Cool! I’ve got the N100, and experience is similar. I’m trying to build up some motivation to use it daily for a while.
Good on you for the development work, and congrats on you accepted pull!

Not OP, but great question. A lot of discourse seems to imply that we should already know.
Historically, there were groups that identified that way for very specific reasons (against European monarchy in Central America for instance).
In the US, at least, these concepts are quite loosely defined, and I’d even argue, undefined.
