At a time of global instability & growing displacement, it feels wrong to "celebrate" a new book.
Yet, I'd like to share our new book: Refugee-Led Organizations in Uganda: Agency, Gender, and Politics of Self-Organizing in Exile—co-authored w/ Gato Ndabaramiye Joshua & Hannah Schmidt #OA
The book explores the vital yet often neglected role of #RLOs, showing how people challenge restrictions, create economic opportunities, & foster belonging—collectively by self-organizing

available mid-April.

Today is Hashtag#WorldRefugeeDay.

Everyday is World Refugee Day.

The international community must end exclusion and deterrence policies - and return to international cooperation and work with displaced people to ensure protection and pursue durable solutions.

Academic freedom is under threat—yet research is vital in resisting anti-democratic forces.

Alone, our impact is limited—but together, we can act.

Collective action drives a new initiative by 27 migration scholars from around the globe: Don’t Mourn, Organize and Stand Together as Scholars of Migration.

They now launched a petition to make this collective resistance public.
