@_elena@mastodon.social @tommi@pan.rent not sure how it works with MeshCore, but, at least with Meshtastic, you are gonna have a bad time transmitting unless you're high up. Unless you hit a repeater. There's a repeater on a mountain I have almost line of sight with and that's how I'm able to tx.

@mason maybe a bit of an overreaction, given that the evidence they present is a couple of unit tests written with help from Claude? Sure, one may discuss the ethical implications of employing Claude at all, and the message that sends, but it's not like the app is now vibe coded. There's nuance to things, and calling everything "slopware" is counter-productive.

@GutterPoetry@mastodon.me.uk @VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social when Trump was first elected in 2016, European centrists were 100% positive that fascism would never happen in the US because, despite the unlimited power the president is granted, there were checks and balances. I always thought checks and balances cannot work in a system where the president can just sign executive orders and bypass the parliament/congress. I guess I was right.

@BoTally54@mastodon.social @paulisci@mstdn.ca it's a good example of selection bias. If your sample is "people over 70", then sure, life expectancy didn't grow that much in the last 100 years. But you're only counting those who get that far. My grandparents lost like half their siblings back then, to childhood diseases. Even my mom (1960s) lost her newborn brother to a congenital condition which could probably be treated today. We're much better at keeping people alive.
