tumblr users have somehow gentrified the term "tumblr sexyman". there is a three way battle between senshi dunmeshi, ryland grace, and tenna deltarune for the 2026 tumblr sexyman of the year poll rn. last i checked tenna was winning but senshi was close behind.

for those who aren't in the know, a "tumblr sexyman" is a character who isn't canonically considered attractive, doesn't register as attractive to most outsiders, and has a rabid fanbase who sexualize the fuck out of them. sexy twink humanizations are optional, the important part is that telling people that you're hot for the character would result in most of them looking at you like you've grown another head.

og tumblr sexymen included: bill cipher (usually humanized), wheatley from portal (usually humanized), the clock from dhmis (usually humanized), king candy/turbo, and of course. the reigning champion. the once-ler

tenna? not a sexyman. he's an object head with a nice humanoid body. senshi? not a sexyman. he's a kind bear who cooks well and while the pantyshots weren't intended to be titillating, god knows he's been drawn in very very very attractive ways by the mangaka. ryland grace? dude he's played by ryan gosling. what are we doing here.

what sucks more is that spamton and rocky were right there. spamton has a rabid horny fanbase while having the proportions of a fucked up gingerbread man, and rocky is A Fucking Rock who has a popular sexy humanization based on his VA. they were both RIGHT THERE. hi, i'm tox, and i'm making one of these posts again. bear with me. i'm one of aethy's admins, and it's a task i take seriously; several of you may be familiar with me as the one who reaches out to users when there's trouble or unrest. i've done my best to make this site safe and hospitable and it matters a lot to me. i'm also doing really poorly irl. all my experience as a community manager can't get me a job in the current american job market, and i'm disabled on top of that. my rent is $1,200 a month, i have two pets, and my food stamps are currently inactive. shit's kinda bad. any income at all would help me find a stable life but right now i can't manage that no matter how hard i try. so, to that end: i'm always accepting leads on remote work of ANY kind, i take commissions, and i can be donated to directly on the following accounts: @prismatoxic@account.venmo.com cashapp: $prismatoxic ko-fi (you may dm me for my paypal, ko-fi will take a 10% cut but i hate just Posting My Deadname, you understand) the unfortunate thing about being disabled and poor is that it tends to leave us in permanent crisis. i'm not the only person on this site alone in such a position, and if i can ever get my feet under me, i want nothing more than to change the lives of others in this boat. for now, all i can do is try to keep my head above water. sharing this post helps, even if you can't donate. if you can, any amount of money is appreciated. commission turnaround time is Bad for stress reasons but i will absolutely honor that obligation if you elect to go that route. i'm close to rent for august but then i'm screwed again, and you can imagine how much having no extra money whatsoever weighs on the mind of someone with animals to look after. things are dire and i'm very tired! but we persevere. thank you for reading! and thank you tremendously to everyone who's donated in the past, it really does help.

i want to sincerely thank everyone who's spread my donation post and also, of course, everyone who's donated. it means so much to me, as do the kind words and support. i'm very grateful to be a part of a community like this. i'm still trying to work things out, there's no employment guarantees but i have some potential leads that hopefully won't kill me. for full transparency, i deleted my old gfm because i had to prove to the government that i was no longer receiving donations that huge (it had raised 7k total), but all donations had gone through when i did so. smaller personal donations are much easier to comply with welfare guidelines, lmao... this post is a reply to my initial donation post, so if you want to boost that, you can find it pretty easily. as i said before, no one is obligated to do anything; i don't help run aethy in expectation of a reward, i do it because i care. but i do sincerely appreciate all the boosts and support. thank you guys!

hi, i'm tox. i'm one of aethy's admins and several of you here will know me as the staff member who touches base when people have concerns or need assistance with the site. i care a lot about my position here, and the community we've built.

i'm also in a very bad position. i was homeless for two months and the threat of being such again is not over. i'm on my own with two pets and i'm too disabled to find normal work; you can imagine how hard it is to find remote work in america's current job market. i need to know if i can stay where i am by the 15th, and to know that i need either income or enough money to pay rent for july. (i have enough for june and nothing else rn.)

okay can someone tell me why people are mad about the star fox remake? the designs look great, star fox was always a semi-realistic series in style so idk why people wouldn't like them. the gameplay looks faithful to the original and also fun. i love the idea of More Story.

and if the reason is just "nintendo sucks" or "remakes suck" then i'm not really interested. first one is just true but not specific to star fox, and the second one is conditional, i like a lot of remakes.

for anyone who manages to see this post: the local/explore timeline still updates, even though home timelines are struggling. you may have to manually refresh to see new posts.

things will likely even out over the next few days, just manually check your posts for notes/comments and go directly to your favorite users' pages to see what they're posting. posts still show up on other website timelines as normal i believe, so if you have a blorbo, denden, baraag, or a bridged bsky, you can use that to keep up with people too. (they have to have their account bridged to bsky too, you can use @/bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy for that)

@Harzu@aethy.com @nessdoor@aethy.com i asked pervert, and it looks like for the ideal package we'd want about €150 more a month than we're currently paying, which is presently €74 a month. so that's €224 total, or about 226 USD. as i said, expensive :') we don't push for donations a ton as it is but even if we did, it's a lot to ask.

REMINDER: problems with notifications, timeline updates, and 500 errors are pretty much always because of issues outside of our control. or, to put it more bluntly, there is only one option we as staff do have: get more money for better servers.

i was recently homeless, pervert isn't exactly swimming in cash, and none of the other staff are that much better. no one is obligated to donate, but if you complain on the public timeline about the site's performance, i would highly suggest at least sharing our donation link: https://liberapay.com/AethyPervert/

we're frustrated by the issues too, believe me. we love this site. i spend a lot of my time checking up on it and following through on reports. but there's very little to be done on our end aside from simply upgrading, which isn't cheap.
