@AeonCypher@lgbtqia.space i am seriously recoursing to the strongest example i could find of men taking a desperate last stand in the face of many others who would not, and did not let it go unpunished. despite the dramatic contrast in scale, as the other commenter points out, the basic act of «doing something» as a symbol of resistance even when it is known to fail except as a symbol, is the same in both cases. look, my comment worked because of its grotesque disproportion, it made you want to make fun of me =)
i’ve been following you on fediverse for quite some time and usually enjoyed your posts; that is why i am suprized by this lack of understanding (it’s actually lack of desire to understand, since the idea is not complex): people who «refuse to use #ai» are not refusing to use llm-based tools per se; the refuse to use services built on others’ work without conscent or compensation, without respect for privacy, built with neglect to disastrous aftermath in education and politics, built with conscious displacement of extremely expensive externalities on societies, built for concentrating even more power to already overpowered few.
sometimes, making others make a wry face by doing something se evidenlty «useless» is the only thing a person with ethics is left with.
