@lkh I appreciate the offer but I'm not an online player; I meet face to face, so that if anyone disruptively says "It's what my character would do!" I can glare at them threateningly ;) no really, I just have certain sensitivities that prevent me from enjoying a lot of things that other people enjoy in life, no shade to people who don't have my limitations

@phf@tabletop.social I stand corrected! For some reason I thought there were three branches of Basic D&D. I might've been thinking of OD&D or the modified Rules Cyclopedia. I have listened to a lot of history of D&D, for entertainment value, but might not have even retained as much as I might've thought. The youtube channel I mentioned is fascinating to me, but his preferred playstyles are definitely not my own. Which is fine, a fun game is a fun game regardless of edition/ruleset!
