@kq@ieji.de PixelFed’s questionable leadership was something I initially was scared of mentioning lol, but yes, PixelFed just seems like a one man band and I don’t really like that either. Once again, it is all about personal preference, I am still testing stuff with Monnett and I will see which one I prefer, testing stuff has never hurt has it? It is obviously totally fair to do it on Mastodon as well if you prefer that, but I hope some other people might come across Monnett and enjoy it!

@kq@ieji.de You’re not wrong, it is a bit vague and it definitely depends on the user’s preferences, as I have mentioned before. The main reason I would choose Monnett is because Mastodon is a microblogging platform, and Monnett is for sharing photos, so I would just want to share my photos via Monnett. But obviously you can also just use Mastodon if you don’t have photos to share anyways. But I think we can all agree, having multiple competing platforms is always beneficial to the consumer

@livthecrow@mastodon.social @kq@ieji.de If something is European that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s better, but supporting regional businesses is better because your investing in your own country (or in this case, continent) Also, Europe isn’t necessarily better, but the US is simply worse, Europe has stronger privacy laws and protects consumers better.

@kq@ieji.de The reasons to why Monnett is cool obviously depend from person to person, but a few examples are its lack of AI, no algorithm, and community focused governance structure (three things they have in common with PixelFed) as well as being European and also what I think will be genuine competition to Instagram, which is good. It’s currently still in Beta and being worked so nog yet finished but cool! It obviously depends on the users and what they like, choice is always a good thing!

Okay, so I’ve been using @Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net for a few days now, and these are my thoughts thus far:

I really enjoy the speed dials, OH MY GOD, they’re really intuitive and easy to use imo, and I like that I can make multiple speed dial pages.

Another thing I massively enjoy is the fact that I can easily switch and close tabs at the top of my screen, SO MUCH EASIER!! It’s such a simple feature, but it is worth 10x the screen real estate that it costs, but if you want to turn it off, YOU CAN!!

@Tutanota@mastodon.social I’ve been using Tutanota for such a short amount of time, and yet it feels so familiar and safe. I have no clue how tuta works behind the scenes but it’s clearly working!! But out of curiosity, how do you know for sure whether something is quantum safe? I presume it’s not testable since quantum computers are expensive and hard to come by? Do you collab with unis and quantum computing companies?
