@alcinnz@floss.social totally agree, i mean people should be hostile to LLM's, they are destroying the planet to produce slop misinformation -- there are perhaps some legitimate use cases for LLM's but these are still speculative

10 years ago pundits were talking about 'post-truth' but now we're really in a situation where it's slop all the way down and verifying any information is increasingly difficult, and this goes especially for the discourse around AI itself, a real epistemic ouroboros

maybe i shouldn't have used the term 'fear mongering' let me clarify what i mean

i think many of the articles about how to spot AI, and about AI generally are definatley being AI generated, the influencers in the video for example, openly admit to using chat gpt themselves, the creator of the video is herself unsure of the origin of this, seems quite plausible someone went to a chat bot and asked 'what is a good way to spot AI generated text" and the bot said "the em dash"
