I've been training in a group which has a lot of kids and teenagers lately, and. Well. I don't think I'd ever interacted with people that much younger than me in any meaningful capacity.
I'm uh. Starting to realize I'm not as immune to the psychological effects of realizing the irreversible passage of time as I thought I was. I'm not 16 anymore, or 20, or 25, and I never will be again. They see me as I saw people my current age back then and I'm positively freaking out about it. I've always been slow to warm up to people but with them there's an extra layer that is new to me: a downwards generational gap. *Freaks out harder*
I'm not even actually old and I'm already "I used to be it"-ing lmao. I always knew I'd start getting older in theory because that's how time works but it's dawning on me harder than ever just from the contrast with these kids.
I know I'm kinda shouting into the void here but if anyone has any insight I'd be more than glad to hear it
