@evan@cosocial.ca sadly as travel has become democratized I find destinations have become homogenized. The hot new thing for tourist trap fast food in Lyon was.... Poutine!

@mjg59@nondeterministic.computer and without context I have to admit my first reaction is it wouldn't be very helpful to have hundreds of licenses that have various conflicting restrictions on which parties of which conflicts can use them. I suppose that's a slippery slope argument so maybe I regret it already.

@mjg59@nondeterministic.computer this doesn't sound complicated. You may have a claim about whether this is good or bad but it's clearly not "free software" the way we use that term. Words mean what we want them to mean, trying to redefine them to equal whatever we think is good or bad just leaves them meaningless.

@yosh I don't see why going from 1B commits to 14B commits on 14x separate repos would cause any additional complexity. What does seem like it would cause issues is if they went to 14B commits on the same number of repos. If each commit is getting larger and part of a more complex repo.

@kernellogger in the abstract I understand all that. But when it works fine for some versions but breaks one release and works the next over and over it feels less like some hardware issue and more like some code churn. The first time it broke was when they added the "silent stream" to avoid the latency when sound plays. Then a subsequent version started working again. Then subsequent versions randomly worked or didn't as they kept tweaking this code. How would you suggest reporting this?

@kernellogger is HDMI audio out still borked? I'm stuck on 6.12 because I the HDMI silent stream thing has meant no audio on any kernel since then

@iFixit@mastodon.social better yet, buy a dishwasher that doesn't have this part. Models which grind up food debris rather than filter it exist

@thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io wait. What's wrong with that? Like I get why Twitter/Facebook wouldn't want that as it wouldn't really drive engagement. But if that person is part of your social circle and they did post sometime wouldn't that be all the more important to see? I feel like there's a lot of "this isn't how Twitter worked and I expected this to be just like Twitter" in these complaints

@raulinbonn @gabrielesvelto ECC RAM is only worth anything if the error corrections are being monitored and there's a process in place to replace the faulty component. If not then it's just a waste of money to generate warnings in a log file nobody reads.
