it's funny that vampire crawlers is technically a much better game than vampire survivors, and that's what makes it have a much shorter staying power
"going infinite" is very easy (like in survivors), you just google the guide and it takes relatively little unlocking to do (okay: it's a bit more work in survivors). but, making it work in crawlers still requires you to engage with the game, and if you get unlucky enough with the level ups it can actually be even a little challenging. you'll even take damage sometimes.
but challenge and engagement is not why you play survivor; you do it because you need to dissociate for ~30 minutes. you play vampire survivors in bed until you realize that your gaming device has become too heavy to hold and it's time to turn it off, flop over, and pass out
most people (hi) don't have a built-in "dissociate" button, and this game is (at least for me) one of the few reliable ways to trigger that headstate (on my own). and that gives vampire survivors its staying power
