I don't understand how more people aren't calling out how weird and exclusive this is???? But I need help to even get to the baseline where I can seriously pursue Head Hustler status without crashing and burning within weeks, let alone get back to writing or to any of the artmaking and digital curation work and nerding out about Blackness I *actually* live for, and wish to develop long-term sustainable practices around.
So yah, that’s what this gfm is about, in a nutshell. I gotta hit a hard restart on how I’m living and how I’m approaching life, and this’ll give me just enough breathing room to make some real changes for the better.

And that’s before we get to the bleak, bleak, BLEAK picture of employment for Black gender minorities in the U.S. Black cis women ended 2025 with an unemployment rate of 7.5%, and while I haven’t been able to track down current numbers for Black trans folks of any gender, past reports have Black trans folks at twice the unemployment rate of Black cis folks, more likely to live in poverty than Black cis folks, and generally experiencing higher rates of transphobia than non-Black trans people*. So at this point I think it makes more sense for me to figure out my own ~thing~ than to chase a certain kind of employment in this current fascistic atmosphere.

Fact is between shit like fleeing anti-trans legislation in my former home of North Carolina, the traumatizing ending of my last job, navigating family estrangement, the death of my hashtag (#YourSlipIsShowing) co-creator, getting my health together for gender affirming surgeries and the fun discoveries that have come with that process (hello fibroids!!), getting my mental health together and the exhausting process and even more fun discoveries that come with that (hello ARFID, hello OCD!!), watching my work with #YourSlipIsShowing be erased in real time via misgendering (sometimes thoughtless sometimes intentional), a couple of COVID infections, and discovering that the Epstein horror actually touches me directly twice over, one of them being the guy's role in the founding of the site that spurred the need for #YSIS in the first place..............yeah. Mans (me) is burnt out.
Thoroughly. Like I can’t even fake it no more.

I wouldn't say 2026 has been kicking my ass *exactly*, but it has shaken me up and wrestled me down to the ground and forced me to take a real honest assessment of my current capacity, which is basically: null. I'm having trouble feeding myself regularly and keeping myself clean and somewhat verbally coherent, let alone apply to grants & fellowships/step into entrepreneurship/return to regularly writing/do any of the things I intended to spend 2026 doing, to date.

If there is no masculinity that is not an expression of patriarchy.........
If there is no such thing as non-toxic masculinity............
Then it stands to reason that the only moral/righteous gender is that of femininity, and it stands to reason that the only way for trans men to be good people is to detransition/never transition in the first place
