And if you think they were asking for it because they were walking or riding a bike, you’re just a bad person. You’re the one driving the 5,000-lb vehicle. You’re the one responsible for making sure you don’t hit anything or anyone. Trying to blame others for your shitty driving is just ridiculous."

@mbonsma@mastodon.social I'd suggest using age 12 as the cutoff, since that's a reasonable age for kids to go out on their own. Relegating those kids to lousy public transit makes their lives worse, and encourages them to take up driving. I spent hours wandering around #halifax before i turned fifteen because the bus system sucked.
