#Zulip looks okay but I don't know that I'll be able to get anyone to join me there. Not sure about the mobile app...

Alternatively #Discourse is very expensive to have hosted. I don't mind paying some money, but $20/mo for the standard hosted plan is too much for me.

Spinning up a test #Discourse in a VM. Let's see how this works as a #discord replacement for some of my communities.

Well, that’s both of my D&D groups moving out of Discord into Signal group calls / Zoom starting in March.

Trying to replace my book club discord server with a #Zulip instance... not sure this is "it" but it's probably more "it" than matrix, stoat, etc.

Not sure if #Zulip is gonna be it or if I'm just gonna have to spin up a #phpBB forum for it.

Ugh. Fucking enshittification of Discord.

@mdiluz@mastodon.gamedev.place It was helpful to me. I’m looking to replace a few different Discord communities that operate differently, and I think Zulip might be a good fit for one, and Matrix (& Element) might be a good fit for another.
