If I play my cards right, when I leave Texas, my cousin may be joining me. She needs to get out of Missouri and go back to school, poor kid had to drop college last year.

California has a BOGG Waiver (tuition waived for low income) but she may have to chill for a bit before she is eligible. Can't just put the electric bill in her name like we did for my older cousin 30 years ago and call it all good. Still, getting out of Hawley land is worth it.

I am leaving Texas. Finally.

I will be moving out of here in May. Headed back to California to regroup and figure out what's next. Whatever it is, AI will not be it. I'm not going to waste my last 20+ years (if I'm fortunate) on that shit.

I wrote something like this last time, Take 2.

I aim to:

Boost black voices.
Boost persepctives of Hispanic and Indigenous Americans (I am not either) which also includes normalness, because people are not monoliths.
Embrace the silly.
Hug any trans men and women who need it. (Only with consent, of course. Hugger Internet randos are creepy.)
And most importantly, share fails of authoritarianism because we all need it.

USpol is inevitably a part of most of that, so while I try to CW my own rants, I cannot assure the same of boosts. So if I'm a bit much, mute my boosts. It's fine.

Finally, I will work to assume good faith out of people before assuming "nah, dick move" as much as possible. If I falter, I'm not too proud to apologize and do better. Hold me to that.

Hello. I learned two things while I was away.

1.) As they always should, Tacos give me hope. And TACO is a great way to fight authoritarianism. Couldn't know that before I left after the election.

2.) Leaving Mastodon burns your username on that server, so I can't use Cefr@beige.party ever again. So @sefr@beige.party it is.

Other than that, this post serves as my bio. Hello! I'm mid 40s, living in a red state I keep trying to paint a tiny corner of blue, and former Technology Enthusiast. I'm hard at work de-Googling and un-Microsofting my life. Embracing off shore services. Rejecting AI. And reading any banned books I can on CRT, Queer Life, and Women's perspectives.
