I think these colors for the #Bearlin underground and rail map is better. The bear's a bit darker, and it lives in the woods (the green). Whaddayasay?

De Spoorkaart van Amsterdam lijkt bijna klaar. Heb een behoorlijk aantal lijnen geüpdated: 5, 12, 13, 14, 25, 7, 6, 24... Ook de veerdiensten zijn geüpdated en lijn 26 is alvast doorgetrokken naar Strandeiland.

Wie kan mij vertellen hoe de nieuwe haltes van de doorgetrokken tram lijn 26 naar Strandeiland op IJburg gaan heten? Ik heb nu voor de laatste 3 haltes maar wat gegokt... 😬 En andere dingen gewijzigd.

Het Nederlandse seinstelsel is weer anders dan in andere landen. Hoe werkt deze en wat betekenen toch al die borden langs het spoor? Wat betekent bijvoorbeeld het bord met "13" of "8"? En wat is dat blauwe bord met die gele driehoek? Dat, en nog wat dingen, vind je in deze video.

Work in progress! The #Bearlin #Berlin underground and regional rail map is coming along. I've been toying with the colors a bit. How about this? Something about this map screamed "you have to use brown!" at me. And yellow of course.

It's a bit difficult when one part of the map has the opposite brightness of the other. But I think this works for this map. Although I will take another look at it later. Brown can be a tough color to get printed well. Doesn't it look too poopy? 💩

Hoe voorkom je dat treinen verongelukken? Met het blokstelsel. Hoe dat precies werkt leg ik uit in deze video. Er is genoeg over te vertellen in uitgebreide(re) vervolgvideo's. Bijvoorbeeld over het ERTMS, ETCS, DMI, ATB en andere acroniemen.

@malte@anticapitalist.party That new map does seem to improve some things, but it also throws up new things that I would not agree with. My map is more of a novelty map, not a serious attempt at making the map "better." If I were to do that, it would look different.

@rosano@mastodon.online It's definitely hand-mate (digitally). No AI involved ;) Of course the stations and crossings need to roughly align with reality. Otherwise where the lines go and how they bend is where I take most liberties, it's very much a novelty map. But I want it to be correct - as much as possible - too :)

The first full version of my #Berlin subway map is done. It needs tuning now. A key (legend) and I think I want to implement the ABC-fair zones (as to further emphasize the shape of the bear). I *might* include regular rail lines, too. But I kinda like it like this. What say you? #transit #map
