@emkingma@mstdn.social Love reading not just your article, but also the thread leading up to it. Wow, am I glad with this heads up. I'm probably in the same boat as you are, storage wise. While I did look around for alternatives first time around, I came to the conclusion that actually Evernote still was the best tool for my needs - and kept on using it. Also found the price increase somewhat worth it, as there were real QoL improvements noticeable. But this next price-hike really is out of orbit for me too. The on beef I remember having with Joplin and Obsidian both - and probably any .md based app - is that they have to have a folder for attachments somewhere, and they all insist on making it visible in the app. I like attachments to be part of a note *seamlessly* - e.g. with notes on all tax correspondence of one year - and it really takes some getting used to how to do that e.g. in Obsidian. Also curious to learn which plug-ins you ended up using, would you mind sharing those (specifically the storage and media ones)? Might save me the research there. 😉
