In a world in which trust has so eroded, April Fools isn't just a bad idea, it's downright offensive and harmful.
We can only play games with trust when we have trust.
Otherwise, it's just cruel torture.
They say the reason so much work is sent out of America is that Americans demand too much pay.
Anyone who has ever tried to start a business knows the real costs are in
- Rent, because all the land is already owned
- Materials - controlled by cartels owned by the same rich assholes who own all the land
- Equipment - offshore manufacturing all under contract by - hey, look at that! - the same perverts.
These greedy fuckers do nothing but steal the value we create.
Trying to be a trusting, friendly person has opened many doors for me.
It's also led me down an awful lot of scams.
Good thing I never have any money and am very tight with it when I do.
And I can generally sniff most "pig butchering" style scams pretty quickly.
Sometimes I just like to see how they're going to play out - what's the move?
But I'm always left with an empty sense of sadness...
Because these scams prey on loneliness and desperation.
And there's far too much of that.
If you consider yourself a "liberal", you should probably stop.
Liberalism exists on the same spectrum as what we conventionally call "conservatism". The only difference is deciding "who should make the rules for everyone else." aka "Who should be in charge".
If you think "someone should be in charge", you need to re-evaluate that thinking.
All of our unnecessary misery derives from decisions made by people claiming to be "in charge"
We need to take back control of our lives.
