@jynersolives@mastodon.social @richservo@masto.ai absolutely. Consider how many people use windows primarily for gaming. Many even use things like playnite to control games on their tv. SteamOS on any hardware would be revolutionary and what Gabe has been striving for for years.

@jynersolives@mastodon.social if valve would finally release steamOS for any hardware Linux would replace a large share of windows gaming pcs.
@darth@silversword.online @richservo@masto.ai no mans sky is impressive in that over the years it’s actually become what it was supposed to be. And it’s constantly improving.
@SirTapTap@mastodon.social @richservo@masto.ai Honestly, this is just so they can beat their estimates. They don’t give a shit about employees. They are just tools. Whether you can be fired for forming a union depends on the state you’re in. If you live in a “right to work” state you can be fired for any reason, including organizing. If you work in a protected state (typically when that has state income tax) it’s illegal to retaliate against a union and they can get in big trouble for it.
@SirTapTap@mastodon.social @richservo@masto.ai Technically a union only requires 2 people, but the benefits won’t be worth it with such a small staff. When I had my company I spoke with IATSE about how to encourage my artists to unionize once I had enough of them. But I only lasted a couple years and never had more than two people working for me. But as a company owner you should want your employees to feel taken care of.
@darth@silversword.online @richservo@masto.ai baldurs gate 3 is a great example of a current game that the debs are constantly improving for “free”
@SirTapTap@mastodon.social @richservo@masto.ai actors organized at a time that was easier tho. They were tools of the studios, just like crew. They had existing unions backing them. Vfx has nobody. If we decided to strike studios would just hire people willing to break the line and directors wouldn’t bat an eye.
@darth@silversword.online more, game made by devs that give a shit. Game as a service is all about selling updates and squeezing customers.
@SirTapTap@mastodon.social staff churning is disgusting and should be illegal. I really hope these displaced employees all realize what’s going on and ask for more money.
@raymondpert@mstdn.social That's a weird one. If you want to sell your product on the apple store you have to cut apple in. Spotify is trying to get around that. That isn't a monopoly. Any smaller company breaking terms would be booted from the store.
I've decided this year that I'm done with Amazon. I haven't made a single purchase yet and have still been able to get everything I need. I've been using Amazon for so long I didn't realize the ecommerce has gotten so good. Everything I need is available from the maker directly without amazon getting involved. It takes a bit longer to get everything for sure. But not giving money to Lex Luther is well worth the wait!
@BeAware@social.beaware.live But that was my point. Rockstar is claiming Remedy stole their R...I was pointing out that OD is more of a rip off of Remedy if anything is.
@BeAware@social.beaware.live do you think there’s a chance anyone would think remedy is rockstar because of the letter R?
@BeAware@social.beaware.live That's not an effect that's a design. They share an identical design language. The only similarity between remedy and rockstar is the first letter of their names.
