@stux Not to mention everyone intentionally picked the most stupid invasive approach. Instead of demanding from manufacturers to offer simple to use parental controls for parents to moderate and control a device their child is using, they demand governments to become their nannies. All at expense of EVERYONE's privacy. And children won't be any safer because of it. There will just be more private data breaches as a result.

@eff I only had X for corporate contacts when everything else failed to contact companies for things and I decided to delete it the moment Donald Trump got endorsed and elected by Elon. Besides, Twitter has been shit in its last years and just got absolutely the worst when Elon took over. Nothing of worth was lost. I switched to Mastodon and never looked back. I just skipped BlueSky because it's the same shit as Twitter was.

@itsfoss@mastodon.social How does this OS level age verification even works? You just set in OS "Yeah I'm 18+ years old" and you're on your merry way or do you need to somehow actually prove it with ID or shit? If it's just a toggle with no verification just as a tool for parents to use as parental control it's not really problematic, but I'm sure there's already abuse planned with it on corporate/government levels isn't it?
