I'm very much invested in strengthening the #GTK ecosystem with my work. Gitte is a good poster child to show off how beautiful GTK w/Adwaita is and how far the macOS integration has come.
The #inkscape team called it "the unicode tofu issue" (https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/issues/3532), because "something something something, broken fonts" was making the UI unusable on macOS for some people. With the upcoming Inkscape 1.4.3 we can finally say: something something something, we win!
