I'd love to be able to travel to work events in Europe by rail. Unfortunately train tickets in the UK are extortionate and connection to Europe is monopolised by Eurostar.
Instead of making rail travel affordable for everyone, the UK subsidises jet fuel to encourage travel by budget airlines.
