What git hosting solutions currently offer free, private hosting that doesn't go into training LLM models? ... I'm looking for somewhere to push private forks of some open source projects so that I'm not actively making myself redundant 😭

Once upon a time @EvenRouault@mastodon.social spent his valuable time writing world class geo software. Now he's been forced to become a glorified kindergarten teacher, wasting time herding badly behaved slop pushers into line. I can't imagine how demoralising this is, but I know we'll ALL suffer as a result 😭.

@sgillies it's tagging the virtual methods in the underlying C++ code, i.e. those that are designed to be overridden and which will be overridden everywhere. Other methods can only be overridden when calling from Python, not C++. So eg overriding QgsMapLayer.name() in python code won't actually result in a different name shown for the layer in the qgis interface, as that's all C++ based...
