Eg have seen people complain on the birdsite re being 'banned from mastodon' for not putting CW on worldcup posts (not explaining which instance, ofc). More clarity re norms and consequences esp re CW and other features that are different from over there would be v helpful to new users.

In addition to the thoughtful suggestions from others: 1) an encouragement to think about legal protections/liability for the instance and supports for moderators, if you haven't already done so (I'm new). I'm not a lawyer etc, but have seen a few threads by @rahaeli on twitter in recent days on this topic, re copyright and liability protections needed for US-based services, and the truly horrible stuff that mods see and how to cope

Since the bird site seems to quite possibly be on its last legs, I'm setting up over here. I made a profile on another server last week, but migrated here today (but seem to have had to manually migrate my follows?). I'll miss the many interesting conversations OverThere, but will be on the lookout for familiar names&faces here.
