@jnsgruk Please don’t. I’m using Ubuntu on servers & desktops since 2008. I will surely reconsider my distro choice at the first chance. Also, I was recommending Ubuntu/Mint to colleagues for the last 15 years. After this post, not anymore. Please don’t go Mozilla’s path. No amount of thoughtful and fancy words like ‘careful’, ‘responsible’, ‘experimentation’, … will convince your most loyal users.

@jernej@androiddev.social @lapor@toot.si Bolj sem imel v mislih admine in vzdrževalce že narejene FOSS. Vem, sedaj jih je malo in trg Microsoft certified XY prevladuje. Drugi kadri se niti ne morejo razviti. Morda bi se ob uvedbi FOSS v JU lahko.

Even a back-pocket country like ours (Slo.) allows it without any special permit (600W grid output max., no selling). But beware: this is an entry drug. When you taste it, you will want more.

Even we, living in Slovenia (which is probably seen as 3rd world country for USians) have almost everything you mentioned + a bit warmer weather, why the hell should we look up to US (in relation to quality of life)? Longterm effects and all. I saw the positive effects (on a micro level) with my own eyes after 2 decades of being involved in various ways.
