Todo lo que hacemos en ésta vida tiene un costo. Si voy con la novia no puedo ir de juerga con los amigos. Si voy de juerga no puedo ir al cine. Si voy al cine no puedo escribir mi libro, etc.
Ésto se llama coste de oportunidad. Todos tomamos las decisiones que mas nos apetecen, pero no podemos evadir la responsabilidad de nuestras decisiones culpando al coste.
Imagine que yo le dijera:
"Yo quiero tener el cuerpo musculoso de un semidiós, pero la Coca-Cola conspira para hacer su producto delicioso y me obliga a beberlo 3 veces al día. No es mi culpa tener sobrepeso, es de las dinámicas de poder".

Funny that you mention roads and schools, etc. because all of them are terrible where I live.
Socialism, even as an idea, is completely flawed.

The economies with more capitalism are more worried about obesity than hunger.
Socialism was able to starve one of the most fertile lands on the planet.

I agree with the governing part.
Marx used communism and socialism interchangeably. I don't think socialism is essentially different from communism.
The fact that the "socialism success" examples always come from countries with lots of freedom in markets doesn't make a good case for me.
