Dr Thomas de Prinse ("Extractions And Fire on YT) does a most excellent presentation on whether you should do a Ph D. Australian centric, with a sprinkling elsewhere, very good though for whether you're considering the study or want to know what the Aussie landscape is like. He makes the excellent point that the only organisations in Australia that actually pays for proper R&D is Defence.

Whoa, there's a lemon on the tree! Dad planted it a couple decades ago. Was doing well, then the local marsupials found it. I tried everything to keep them away. Dad died a little over 6 years ago. Put some deadwood around the base about three years ago to see if that might stop the locals. One fruit. A couple of flowers this season seem to have gone through full pollination as well. Hooray!!! Might try the same with the apple tree next season...
