Received the "estimated cost" for my rotator cuff surgery from the surgery center. Keep in mind, this isn't for the surgeon. Just for the place to have the surgery. The "unadjusted" cost is $58k.

Why? Is the room gold-plated? Or is our healthcare system completely fucked?
