@rusty@ma.zcx.cc @rmondello@hachyderm.io you don't need Meshtastic for the latter case, many wifi access points can do the same thing. If you have enough of them in an area, you can compare the signal strength to get the approximate position of each device.

To me all their arguments come off as "I've spent a long time to learn this difficult thing and I want to feel superior because of it, I can't do that if you make the difficult thing easier, so stop".
