Therians of Fedi: What does it feel like to be a therian?

What are the thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, experiences, etc that you associate with your therianity?

Especially if you think those things would be atypical of a non-therian furry.

I am not looking for technical/philosophical/dictionary definitions of what a therian is.

@elilla @mynameistillian @flesh I'm kind of too autistic for normal dating, but in kink it's good to keep the scene simple enough that you can ask everything. For example, sex and kissing are not really on the table for me with a first date, because it's easier for me to plan a scene that can't involve them. And then, of course, "do you know what sort of aftercare you are likely to need?"

@elilla @mynameistillian @flesh I play pretty hard, but even with fairly serious play I am still doing most of these steps with new partners.

Planning an impact play scene might look like:

Do you know if you prefer stingy or thuddy? Do you mind if I use both?
Can I strike you on your ass and legs?
Would you prefer to keep your underwear on?
If you cry, should I stop or just check in with you?

@elilla @mynameistillian @flesh Let them know that if it's hard for them to speak up in person, they can text. Even from the same room. If you're a bit more advanced and feel like the scene would be better if you skipped one of these safety steps, talk to your partner about that specifically and how to mitigate the risks.

@elilla @mynameistillian @flesh I agree with all of this. Hypno (potentially) impacts consent, but you just need to talk to your partners about it. Be specific about what a scene might involve and then stick to the plan. Make sure that everyone involved has multiple ways to stop a scene if it's not fun. Ask if they're okay to keep going, mid-scene. Plan aftercare. Check in about what was good and bad, afterwards.

@nowwhat@lgbtqia.space This may or may not be helpful, but the ICD is the international standard for basically defining medical conditions, and lays out the basics of what doctors need to understand about trans people.
