@cczona I wasn’t talking about someone who’s Canadian gaining a different nationality; I was talking about someone who become Canadian *after* their child was born. In that case the Canadian citizenship isn’t inherited.

@rival_elf I believe there’s one more caveat; your ancestor has to have already been a Canadian citizen at the time their child (who you descend from) was born. For example, if your grandparent moved to Canada and became a citizen after your parent was born, then your parent would not become a citizen and it won’t pass down through you.
