Well, an attempted migration of the Mastodon PostgreSQL DB from a hand managed version to CloudNativePG went well...

After two import attempts pg_restore failed with errors, fun.

Now, the next quest.

A Zebra GK420d, CUPS, Netatalk, and a G4 PowerMac running OS9...

I was wondering why my NAS hasn't had any files or prints from #globaltalk and it seems its only visible on Appletalk when i'm running tcpdump, which keeps the interface in promiscuous mode.

Slowly developing a visualisation tool for #GlobalTalk

I'm making use of Netatalk's tools to query the network and parse the results into a big JSON file using Python, which hopefully I can do some nice viz with D3 or something.

First dump of the data is available on nas-afp@Doofnet in the Dropbox folder, for anyone interested.

Note to self: AppleTalk/RMTP/DDP doesn't work nicely with firewalld - and it explains why things half-work.

@cablespaghetti@blahaj.social Strangely, it takes quite a bit to kill ATI/AMD cards by flashing them. I've been abusing an old Radeon 9200 and it seems to always be available for software flashing. I wouldn't be surprised if its the same.

@ross@fosstodon.org I had one of the earlier models of this printer in my woodwork shop to print out orders. Even when absolutely caked in sawdust it still worked perfectly (with a slight burning smell). I use a HP Laserjet at home, but if this one ever dies my next will be a Brother HL.
