Since I'm new here, I want to be clear that trans women are women (and non-binary people are not women!)

So, I get that #hashtags are important in posts, but do hashtags do anything in bios/profiles?

People put hashtags in their bios, but then bios don't seem to appear in #hashtag search results. Is it just to facilitate others' sorting of their own posts? (since I know you can filter someone's posts by tag)
