Mistodon: this #ASCIIart interpretation of the cover art to #MarkZDanielewski's 2000 novel #HouseOfLeaves was drawn by Moth. This piece was included in last month's new books-themed MIST0426 artpack collection.

Mistodon: one of the first #ANSIart screens Cthulu started when the idea of doing a books-themed artpack came up (and also, after quite some turbulance, the very last one he finished), this adaptation of the typographical cover design to the 1999 Mariner Press edition of #JoseSaramago's #Blindness was included in last month's new literary MIST0426 artpack collection. (The artist thanks Yvonne for lending her copy so many years ago!)

Mistodon: while its focus is on adaptations of book cover art, the new literary MIST0426 artpack collection also features portraits of some of our favorite writers. Here's #PhilipKDick done in #teletext by @atonalosprey@oldbytes.space , with an Easter egg book name hiding in plain sight!

Mistodon: this #ANSIart screen by AdeptApril is the first file to appear, alphabetically, in the new books-themed MIST0426 artpack, so it is also the first individual work from that collection that we will profile. On request from Zeromous, it is an adaptation of the front cover to #CliffordStoll's 1989 hacker bestseller #TheCuckoosEgg .

Mistodon: the new literature-themed MIST0426 artpack collection was inspired by the work of Dosdoc, but he was unavailable to join us on this occasion, up to his neck raising a new child. In honour of this tot, we made an effort to recognise and celebrate some of our favorite children's books. Mistodon: There's a beautiful spring day going on outside so today we're going to share this butterfly riot (I was confident I had a hapax legomenon there but surprisingly no!) drawn in monochrome #ASCIIart by Mozz. It was included in the recent unthemed MIST0226 artpack, and if we'd been right-thinking it would have been the FILE_ID.DIZ for that collection!

Mistodon: #cherryblossom season is sweeping through Japan, so what better time to share this #textart screen, drawn by @littlebitspace@mas.to, celebrating a seasonal #tea service in the shadow of #Fujisan. It was included in the recent unthemed MIST0226 artpack collection.

Mistodon: LDA continued his campaign of drawing #ANSIart tributes to his Mistigris colleagues here in this celebration of @consolejockey@mastodon.social , whose program we use to syndicate these Mistigram posts across several microblogging services. Mistodon: Not only is Kalcha from Japan, but doubling down, in last month's unthemed MIST0226 artpack collection he shared with us over two dozen Japanese #ukiyoe-style portraits, composed entirely from characters in the Japanese #ShiftJIS character set.
