@Niina@piipitin.fi @GeePawHill@mastodon.social some companies want to attract women for good reasons. Some other companies want to attract them to pay them less. I have encountered both. I have been mostly lucky in my career but I have witnessed lots of abuse, especially to women that came fresh out of uni and didn't know better about how much they should be paid, and how they should (not) be treated… sad stuff.

Random question for the #gearsquad and #Talkbass

Do you know of any #bass pedals that simply detect the note you are playing and generate a midi output signal of the played note?

I have done a quick search and I don't find anything similar.

@thunfisch@chaos.social I tried to read that but I couldn't. The worst kind of LLM generated Linked-in speak. Edit: I mean their statement, on the link you posted, of course. I cannot believe anyone would like to call that a letter, or even sign it with their name.

@adhd_coffee in my case I usually finish the project without ever telling anyone about it 🫠

A couple of weeks ago I asked for advice about recording in our tiny, noisy rehearsal place. I got lots of excellent ideas - thanks to all of you!

I ended up recording with 2 microphones into my focusrite. One on the floor facing the drums but away from the kick + close to the bass amp, the other mic at the end of the room.

The result was not mindblowing or anything close but still enough to learn…

Hi! I'm Nika, an amateur #bass player. I am mostly into 70s #music, prog-rock, psychedelic, but not limited to that.

When not playing bass you can find me reading a #book , (usually non-fiction), taking care of my #plants and #succulents (not always successfully), trying to brush my #cat or most often offline walking outside.

I usually work as a #software-dev person but I'm currently taking a well deserved break from office and screen life. So much to do outside the screen!
