@janrosenow@mastodon.energy I get the feeling that #bigoil sees Africa as the next generation market to sell their crap to. It's great to see that there's hope for the electricity generation side. What concerns me is the push to sell Africa on personal mobility with Internal Combustion Engine vehicles which have engines with emissions standards from the 1990's.

@rejzor@mastodon.world @janrosenow@mastodon.energy They *are* cheap in China, including whatever the local Chinese dealership adds for markup. To get the same car in UK or EU you need to pay a shit ton of taxes and greedy markups by dealerships and so the price pretty much doubles.

@KiwiEV@mastodon.nz I've used the type on the right (Japanese Kei Car compliant?) for hauling motorbikes around in the eighties. They are *great* with many options for the load area at the back - open, closed, passenger, campervan,… Several manufacturers like Daihatsu, Subaru, Suzuki, Isuzu, Electric versions would be even better.
