the biggest misconception for people wanting to come across as Very Computer is making every text on their website have a monospaced font

@marceloexc@im-in.space i use Mona 7 for Mac as my "gold standard" for desktop clients. i was really scared this Dowstodon wouldn't support multi windows, as most other desktop clients (even on mac) do. but not only does it support multi windows, it IS the default action when going clicking on a users profile, or going to a thread, etc. really excellent stuff.
trying out Dowstodon which is a native Fedi client for Windows...really great so far

@zhcet@mastodon.design surprised the huge affinity toolbar is still there. i use photoshop with the Application Frame turned off, just like in CS4, to save space. affinity also has a similar toggle but its really half baked, if i recall it also gets rid of the traffic lights which is not what i wanted...

Not that 4:3 is a bad aspect ratio (I think 16:9 is uglier) but I rarely see anyone compose shots with 4:3 in-camera while still rendering it out that way

the new Firefox design is such a tragedy because I remember how old firefox was exceptionally designed. even down to the dev tools, places where most people literally do not care about color and gradients, you can tell that someone on the team DID care

The worst part is that the main consensus of fixing this (without moving away from Electron) is to simply edit your build script and make sure your dev dependencies don’t get copied into the binary. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/47597283/electron-package-reduce-the-package-size
This is just pure laziness.
