@wchr@mastodon.social: don't allow Microsoft or Facebook or any other to harvest data and then transfer it. It is useless to forbide them to use the data once they have it. Who's going to stop them from using it? Nobody. It's this simple.

If it is not possible for a complete ban, force these companies to deliver their source code and we compile it here and create an European version.

@wchr@mastodon.social: Wow, Edge looks really great, granting by default access to the device for many extensions. It's just a matter of time until this gets exploited. In Chrome you do need to install a extension. Both are bad. Just use Firefox or LibreWolf and forget all Chromium based browsers.

It's a small pain yet, because for now,they are just reacting to a small profit loss, but it is a good signal that we are on the right path. We need to teach people to block #ads and stop using a "smartphone" to browse. It's for making calls and taking pictures, not for using on Instagram or Facebook. Stop being used and dumb!

@pmarg there are many amazing Thinkpad I would buy but because of ME I'm just waiting for a good ARM ChromeBook. Some are already nice like Acer Spin 513. But there are good Linux laptop's also from System76 with ME disabled.
