Okay... I think I finally have my shit together enough to finally announce it now... The Calamity Wiki is live!!!! Calamity is a worldbuilding project I've been working on for the last 10 years
https://www.calamity.wiki/Main_Page
There's hundreds of pages of content and the first chapter of a story called Project Alderon you can go there and read right now! (Boosts are encouraged!)
(Some of the pages are still not up to the highest standard I'd like yet, and many don't have wiki infoboxes, I'm slowly working through those. But that's of course something that'll take time. All the major stuff should have them, though!)
My context switching has an incontrovertible hysteresis period
blessed with creative thoughts, cursed with the inability to draw
…hopefully changing soon
I promise it's a very trustworthy company
Finally made a logo for my worldbuilding project~
Ok random question, does anyone know of a good way to make character portraits for worldbuilding stuff (without using AI)?
I'd rather commission artists to do it (and in fact, I have, for several character already) but I have hundreds of characters and that just isn't financially sustainable at scale
Maybe photobashing or something like that? But then that might get into issues of intellectual property with real-life people
kinda sucks that I have to go to bluesky to find people who are also into my niche kinks, it would be cool if even just some of that community were over here
I decided to go with Mediawiki for my new public-facing worldbuilding wiki and I'm still wondering if I'm gonna eventually regret that decision... lol
Besides that and Wikidot, I don't really have experience with anything else. I know the SCP Wiki uses the latter extensively, but also is looking to move off of it since it's pretty antiquated. Mediawiki isn't that bad so far I guess, though it's fairly complex
One thing I do want to do is fully customise the styling so I can theme the site to my universe, and I'm not sure yet how difficult that'll be to do with the default theme system
someone should make a series where they test how well every possible liquid works as bong water. coffee, milk, pickle juice, wine, vodka, hot sauce…
Huh??? I bought a pack of TimTams here in the UK and it says “chocolate FLAVOURED coating”. while the Australian version of the website says “smooth chocolate coating”
am I going insane? is the UK version specifically made with fake chocolate or have timtams always been made with fake chocolate and the UK laws are just more strict?
“Breaking reality is sort of like forging steel. If you keep heating, eventually it will become soft enough to bend to your will. But likewise, if you keep going, it might melt completely, and then there’s no going back…”
Saw movies be like: this guy jaywalked so now I’m gonna make him rip his own eyeballs out

1.9TDI is a rollercoaster located at Clarks Summit Park in Scranton, PA. It is themed after car and smoking culture, specifically around the “1.9 TDI” aesthetic of diesel VW Golf cars that later became a meme. It boasts the highest top speeds of any rollercoaster on Earth. Superconducting linear motors are used to launch the ride at up to 477 km/h. Like Dipper 2, only sufficiently augmented patrons are allowed to board. It was built in early 2127.
The rollercoaster incorporates elements of burnt rubber and simulates the smell of diesel exhaust fumes, and riders are encouraged to light up and smoke cigarettes while summiting the lift hill. Real diesel fumes were historically used on the ride, but after one patron’s ciggy ignited the fumes and set the car ablaze, the practice was discontinued. However, participants at the time claimed that the flaming ride “was truly epic”, and that they’d do it again despite receiving third-degree burns.
