Man... I just discovered that there is a awesome concert in a few weeks, on a freaking thursday. How am I supposed to go to a concert and then to work the day afterwards?
I just realized that I like imperative programming much more than functional programming. Yes, it is more verbose, but imho much more readable.
I am stuck in webdev.

I can recommend playing against bots for the first few games (at least until you can beat hard barbarian AI).
People online in this game are pretty competitive and kinda expect you to know the game.
Today was a good reminder that, when helping someone with tech, that you sometimes need to ask the absolute basic questions.
today's example includes someone who's phone stopped being able to call. After some troubleshooting and calling with her provider, I discover she recently switched provider and didn't know you had to put the new simcard in. I lost lots of time not checking the basics first.
On the other hand, I also had a good conversation with someone who used to handle punchcards for a university computer. Which was cool.

Are the ghost in the shell manga's worth it? I never really learned to read comics so might want to do that.
(yes, reading comics is harder for me than reading books. I get confused by the order of the text, and I tend to forget to look at the pictures and read only the dialog, which ruins the timing of the story)

It is weird cause I like the world building of psychopass, even if it has some writing holes. But the villains are just not believable, seeming to kill only to further the plot. Not for a reason of their own.
/me rewatching some old anime's I used to enjoy when I was younger...
Wondering how I used to enjoy that crap. Even psycho-pass feels over the top with it's writing now. Hopefully I can still enjoy the classics like Ghost In the shell.
So I just discovered that my GF has noise-cancelling headphones with annoying defaults that can only be circumvented by installing an app AND logging into an account. Seriously, why can't headphones just be headphones?

I am so sad. I was considering returning to android after a hiatus. But this new direction really makes me hope that true open platforms will be viable for daily use soon.

However, the files have significantly changed since the controversy. So I am not 100% sure if this change is global for the project. Or just an isolated good example among a sea of bad examples.

When I checked out this controversy, it seems that the exact same change in a different PR was accepted later on. (The other points in the post still stand, of course)
It does make me sad though. It almost seems like open source is having a nazi problem. But I am hopeful those are just a loud minority.
