Everyone on the Internet seems to dislike AI coding assistants. Everybody I know in person seems to use them. The new AI tools are frightening me. My decades of experience seem to dwindle away in comparison with Claude and friends. They do in seconds what we can do in hours and days. And they already know much more than we do. At least this is my impression. It feels similar to horses being replaced by cars. But this time we are being replaced. Who will pay the rent then?

Which is your favorite AI coding tool? Claude Code and Codex seem to be the most expensive options, while the others are around $20 a month. These tools are here, they are powerful and they will not go away, whether we like them or not.
