I'm a lazy gardener, so I don't fancy doing all the "right" things with compost - turning, aeration, etc. I just pile it all up and leave it alone. Like my father did, and he was a keen gardener.

I occasionally buy frozen food which is delivered in biodegradable packaging - sheepswool insulation in a compostable "plastic" bag. I've been putting both on my compost heap as instructed. Today I started digging out compost from the old heap (I have a two heap rotation) and some of that packaging is still very much intact. I just fling it in the new heap for a second go, but is there any way to make it rot faster? #Garden #Compost

@MikeFromLFE@cupoftea.social In my house the plaster runs out before it reaches the floor, all hidden by 6 inch tall skirting. Makes life easier for the plasterers I suppose.

I've just set up a new topping up system for my pond, to replace the previous gravity drip feed from my water butts. A 12 V peristaltic pump in a 3D printed mount is installed inside the garage, with 4 mm hoses from the water butts and to the pond. A time switch runs it for ½ an hour every 3 hours, to be adjusted as needed. #Garden #Pond
