@oscar@mastodon.online @chris@mstdn.games Yeah, I have no idea what Sony's plans are, but on the Nintendo side of things you can still download Wii U and 3DS games (and even Wii, I've been told). It actually felt really silly that the entire Wii U digital storefront is still fully available... except for the functionality that lets you make purchases.

@Jonly @winterwolves There's only one release of the game, as I understand it, and Steam banned the game largely on account of content that only existed in an outdated alpha version.

@Carnivius @repeatro Yeah, I got my SNES bundled with Donkey Kong Country, but that ended up being the only game of its kind (pre-rendered 3D assets) I got for the console. Aside from Flashback with its rotoscoped sprites, the rest of my SNES games had traditionally drawn 2D art, and I think they've mostly aged better than the DKC trilogy.

@matroskin @golgaloth Given that socialism and dictatorship are philosophically incompatible, the question would be "are there any examples of actually socialist countries?" Given the the US's long history of violent intervention when attempts have been made, I'm not sure if there are. We've just had democratic socialists and social democrats forced to work within capitalism while trying to lessen its harms.
